The sour cherry have been approved and patented three cultivars in the period 1978- 1994. The methods used to obtain new cultivars of cherry were selection of local cultivated flora, artificial hybridization, mass selections obtained by free pollination. As genetic resources were used sweet cherry collection (established and continuous collected during 1980-2006) with 550 genotypes and sour cherry collection (established and collected during 2000-2002) with 130 genotypes.
