This paper aims to build programming models to simulate the behavior of agricultural farms, that must be calibrate by the culture plan of the year basis or as the average over several years by the agricultural holding. Economic rationale behind this requirement is that in this way the model adequately represents the environment in which the decision maker agricultural structure shall base its decision. The purpose is to promote the setting up of farms whose size allow the practice of a viable, sustainable agriculture, capable to apply the newest technologies and lead to profit and efficiency, to the economical and organizational consolidation. As a consequence, the resizing of the agricultural holdings, the partnership between the producers, the integration of the agricultural production, the rural development, the consumers’ constant request for agricultural and food products, the decrease of the deficit of the commercial balance for the agricultural products, the increase of the population’s life standard, the safety of the food, all these are goals that have to be under the continuous attention of the authorities at central and local level. Production planning is a fundamental concept that is based on the concept of production organization products, actual production, marketing and service activities and post -sales, taking into account the requirements of actual and potential consumer or user in the direction of their satisfaction with maximum efficiency. The presence of a complex production system calls for linear programming restricts need to formulate a very complex system in order to calibrate the model to observed crop plan. In several cultures the proportion of traditional optimization system was restricted by constraints “rotational" or "flexibility”. This category of constraints determines the optimal solution not only for basic but they are suitable for the simulation of policies that attempt to predict the effects of changing prices, costs or access to resources on the behaviour of farmers. Model solutions, simulation under different agricultural policy are also limited by the constraints identified and formulated in the basic.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Impact analysis of the Common Agricultural Policy on farmers income in North-east region(“Ion Ionescu de la Brad” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Iaşi, 2013) Ungureanu, George; Brezuleanu, Stejărel; Stanciu, Mihai; Boghiță, EduardAim of this paper is to highlight the fact that changes in agriculture and rural development are reflected in the economic downturn, the emergence of demographic problems (increased distances between work and home, decreased rural population), social structure changes, refocusing on systems values, pressures occurring in ecosystems, destruction of cultural heritage areas, and reducing income disparity, changing habitat preferences (secondary residences in the village). Integrating agriculture into the market economy, technical and economic modernization is achieved with great difficulty for various reasons: lack of capital and a well organized credit system, inadequate material resources, dependence on upstream, due to high prices of input -sized industrial and agricultural nature, but also downstream, due to disruption of agricultural contracting system and deepening “price scissors ". Price liberalization and restriction of state intervention in agriculture cannot be similar to the situation in other areas of economic activity. Agricultural support by States is and will remain a necessity in the future economic, political, social and environmental. Policies and support techniques are variable according to variation of supply and environmental policy. Professional aspect concerns the economic organization of farmers, in order to protect revenue and influence government policies. Administrative bodies are agricultural (state) or professional (producers).listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Analysis of the tourism potential of Vama commune, Suceava county(“Ion Ionescu de la Brad” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Iaşi, 2013) Ștefan, Gavril; Cojocariu, Roxana-Mihaela; Coca, OanaAnalysis of the tourism potential of Vama commune, Suceava County aims to identify the resources that can support and influence the development of tourism activities in the area. Tourism resources identified in the reporting area are: natural resources, anthropical resources, capital resources and human resources. The evaluation was performed through specific and synthetic indicators, represented by: index of attractiveness of the area, number of units, number of beds, employment in tourism. The analysis of these indicators confirm that Vama commune is an area with high tourism potential. Given these factors, it can be said that Vama is an outstanding touristic destination, offering premises to spend some unforgettable holidays in nature. However, in relation to the real potential of the area, the exploitation of tourism resources is still at a low level, this being demonstrated by the number of tourists and by the accommodation capacity of the area. Capitalization of tourism potential must be accomplished by investing in accommodation and catering infrastructure, by applying innovative strategies with real impact on the market.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Are there strategic sectors?(“Ion Ionescu de la Brad” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Iaşi, 2013) Ștefan, Gavril; Coca, OanaAre there strategic sectors? An economic sector is strategic if it benefits from additional attention within national policies consisting in facilities for investment and various forms of subsidization. Viewed from an economic perspective, these subsidies and facilities are designed to reduce production costs and increase product competitiveness in the international trade. At a closer look, when you lay aside the economic importance of strategic sectors, it appears that economic specialization on a specific economic sector or area makes it dependent on other nations in terms of interstate trade.A nation will establish strategic economic sectors when is pursuing the objective of increasing competitiveness in the international market and cashing of benefit cost in economic areas of prime importance (for example, in the field of food or energy). For answer, it has developed a case study on the energy sector in Romania. In this sense were assessed specific indicators (level of energy dependency, domestic production of energy, the share of renewable energy, indices of structure of final energy consumption, energy intensity and the subsidization level of renewable energy) in order to substantiate the strategic character of one sector of the economy. The energy sector has a vital importance for economic and social development and for improving the quality life of the population. According to the adopted national development policies, States can approach strategically the energy sector, through funding and subsidizing it or can consider it as well as any other sector of the economy, without advantage it in any waylistelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Romanian agriculture-source of competitive advantage(“Ion Ionescu de la Brad” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Iaşi, 2013) Ștefan, Gavril; Coca, OanaThe work includes a macroeconomic analysis of the primary sector, the agriculture of Romania in the european context. The goal is to identify which are the agricultural resources that represent a real competitive advantage. There were analyzed the following resources: natural resources (climate, land fund etc.), capital resources, labor resources, technical resources, organizational resources and market resources. Resource evaluation was performed through synthetic indicators, namely: used agricultural area per capita, used agricultural area per farm, climate incertitude, financial capital per hectare, agricultural area per agricultural equipment, labor consumption per hectare, intensification factors consumption per hectare, the typology of farms and trade balance. The indicators value places the Romanian agriculture on the first 5-7 place in terms of natural resources and in the bottom of the leaderboard for the other resource types. Results that the main source of competitive advantage of Romanian agriculture is represented by the natural resources and in part on the type of farm. These resources determine the cost advantage in a field of prime economic importance and the competitiveness increase of agriculture on the European market.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Experimental research regarding the labor market insertion of the USAMV Iasi graduates (2005 and 2009)(“Ion Ionescu de la Brad” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Iaşi, 2013) Stanciu, Mihai; Ungureanu, George; Chiruță, CiprianThe University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Iasi (Romania) answered promptly to the Executive Unit for the Financing of Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation (UEFISCU), to get involved in the strategic project "Graduates and the Labor market. National Monitoring Study ", financed by EU structural funds. The project addressed a sensitive issue of the educational activity, namely the inclusion of higher education graduates in the labor market. The project aimed at analyzing the socio-professional route immediately after graduation and after a period considered sufficient for achieving a professional level and shape of individual perceptions about training and employment needs. The initial study addressed graduates, promotions 2005 and 2009, and then subsequent promotions were also involved in the program. The main conclusions refer to the following aspects: Over 45% of the 2005 graduates promotion were employed in a corresponding domain to undergraduate program, then the percentage decreased up to the 2009 promotion, but the percentages of those who continued their studies increased substantially. Graduates from each class: Animal 2005 (65%) and Veterinary Medicine 2009 (50%) felt strongly the need for further development of skills through education after graduation. Over 70% of university graduates of all areas from our 2005 graduates are now employed. In the case of 2009 graduates there is a decrease in the number of employees of over 40%, but a significant increase (over 50%) in those who continued their studies. The findings of this study were reported to the Management Authority of the national university that has decided the activation of structures created to support career orientation of graduates, a partnership among all actors involved in career orientation of graduates, making improvement in stages practice and modernization programs of study in accordance with EU requirements (2020).listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Financial analysis-method of investment assessment(“Ion Ionescu de la Brad” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Iaşi, 2013) Spînache Măgureanu, AdrianaFinancial analysis is a method of substantiation decisions in private sector. The paper aims to answer the following questions: Which are the stages of financial analysis? Which are the indicators used in the analysis financially? Which are the limits of economic efficiency indicators to determine whether the investment is profitable or not? The answer to these questions was based on the analysis and evaluation of investment projects in agriculture, calculating the following indicators: the investment, operating income, operating expenses, operating income rate, payback period, return on invested capital the cash flow coverage ratio, leverage ratio in the medium and long term, net present value, available cash at the end of the periodlistelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Cost-benefit analysis-method of assessing public investment(“Ion Ionescu de la Brad” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Iaşi, 2013) Spînache Măgureanu, Adriana; Ștefan, GavrilDecision "to invest or not" in the public interest is based on cost-benefit analysis (CBA). Cost-benefit analysis is a method of substantiation for investment decision. On this line, the paper aims to answer the following questions: Which are the stages of cost-benefit analysis? Which are the indicators used in determining the efficiency of investment? Which are the limits of economic efficiency indicators?. The answer to these questions was based on the analysis and evaluation of investment projects in energy, calculating the following indicators: the total investment, payback period, net actualized value, annual benefits, annual cost, cost / benefit ratio, internal return. The analysis calculated of indicators highlights the advantages and disadvantages of using CBA in the theory of public investment decisions.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , The meanings of temporal and spatial dimensions of the garden(“Ion Ionescu de la Brad” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Iaşi, 2013) Pânzaru, OlgaWhen dealing with the art of gardening, people often have been inclined to think about gardens in terms of Nature vs Culture. The purpose of our paper is to analyze the temporal and spatial dimensions of the garden from a semiotical point of view, the relationship Time versus Space, a space experienced through multiple meanings in an ever-changing reality. Having in view that more than any other forms of art (painting, sculpture, architecture) the art of gardening aims to “incarnate/embody” the time, a dreamed time, which has been imagined as eternal, the garden may be considered a “temporized spatial entity” or a “spatialized time”. The apprehension that an event or phenomenon takes place somewhere in the world, every moment, leads us to think about the meaningful content of different elements related to space and spatiality versus time and temporality. Experience of the nature forms the bottom layer of any experience in the environment. Conscious and subconscious factors of our memory, knowledge and imagination play an important role in this experience. Human beings relate with the environment by means of different signs – indexes, icons and symbols (basic triad according to Charles S. Peirce) which can be used on different layers of space experience, while semiosis acts as a connecting link between the body, environment, spirit and culture, creating different meanings.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Studies regarding the linguistic peculiarities of the inhabitants from the areas of the hydrographic basins of the Oituz and Casin rivers – Bacau county(“Ion Ionescu de la Brad” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Iaşi, 2013) Mihalache, RoxanaThe inhabitants living in the localities of Oituz and Caşin basins belong administratively to Bacau County from the historical province of Moldavia. The geographical position, at the border of the three provinces, Moldavia, Transylvania and Wallachia, the history as well as the occupations from the past laid their print on the speech which has specific peculiarities, and so it is different from the one spoken in the localities from Moldavia. This specificity is present mainly in Poiana Sărată village from Oituz hydrographic basin as well as in Caşin and Mănăstirea Caşin from Caşin hydrographic basin. Their history is similar as they came into being by successive colonizations from Transylvania (Poiana Sărată) or from Wallachia if we refer to the localities from Caşin region. The basic linguistic stock is of Latin origin (about 80%) due to the Roman presence on the territory, but there are also numerous specific words and expressions which are rarely or never used in other places. Many borrowings come from Magyar, Slavic, Turkish-Tartar or German languages. Some of the specific words: ăi for yes, ni for you, belmeş for weakness state, a tărtuşi for to squash, măitor for night companion. The colonizations from Transylvania determined the appearance of certain words of Magyar origin. These words are present mainly in the speech of the inhabitants from Poiana Sărată as well as from Grozeşti and Ferăstrău villages where an important community of Csangos lives. We exemplify here with some words: beteag, pichioci, pancoş, franghilă, tulcer We also mention the hissing speech which is used by the Csangos living in Grozeşti and Ferăstrău villages: mătusi, cucos, bors, sarpe cârzi, zug, znur. Besides this specific stock of words the Transylvanian accent is to be found in Poiana Sărată, while the Moldavian one in Bogdăneşti and Caşin villages.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , The legal system from Romania. Lack of association, privately owned land fragmentation, lack of irrigation, small agricultural exploitations and poor technological equipment are some of the causes that prevent the practice of effective, competitive agriculture. There are two categories of exploitations, i.e. small area exploitations (below 20 ha), non-performing and providing only for self-consumption, and large exploitations (over 50 ha), well equipped (in general, the property of large companies) that practice high-productivity agriculture. This is the reason why the authors of the present paper analyse the present state of agricultural development of the Region West.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Sustainable development and the role of customer purchase decision(“Ion Ionescu de la Brad” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Iaşi, 2013) Matei, Vasile; Matei Gherman, CorinaEffectively economic results of a company are outside, outdoors, converting them into customers products and services in cash or decision maker is out of business a company [Peter Druker, 1966]. For this reason companies spoils its customers with marketing offers and actions, using messages to position themselves in their brains. I put the question, such action is correct? It has more Information customer and the manufacturer does not? Unlikely. The following question arises: Why spend significant amounts of customer-related actions? The lure of the idea of a product or service? If he needs it, will buy. His problem is that he has more options in the purchasing decision which means that supply exceeds demand and have a choice.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Development scenarios and opportunities for rural households in mountain areas(“Ion Ionescu de la Brad” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Iaşi, 2013) Matei, DanielaThe subsistence agriculture that is still practiced by rural households remains very much under the influence of traditionalism: crops include more or less cereals and field crops, while animal husbandry covers the needs of the household. The development of the society and its demands, and the laws of the market economy, all call for the reorientation of traditional agriculture. Thus, peasants should consider their households not only as food production units, but also as a piece of land where business can be conducted. Depending on demand, on entrepreneurs’ courage and even on their imagination, a plot of land may generate significant income from newly established and more intensive activities: gardening, medicinal plants, ponds, traditional processing of agricultural products, agritourism etc.We aim to provide a comparative assessment for two types of households: focused exclusively on agricultural activity, possibly selling output on food markets in the county; engaged in agricultural activity and additional agritourism/ rural tourism/ ecotourism (hotel, hostel) activities. For the designed scenario / model we analysed income and expenditure patterns for: family wage income and self-consumption; farming activity; combined agritourism and farming activities.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Epistemological evolution in studies on tourism(“Ion Ionescu de la Brad” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Iaşi, 2013) Matei, DanielaResearch on tourism has gone, in the last two decades, several steps interest and enthusiasm in a first phase, followed by apathy and distrust, culminating in the present moment, with a regained interest and confidence in view of tourism as a promoter of integrated development, sustainable peace. As a result, studies on tourism are beginning to occupy a space complex intellectual, prolific and interesting, and a number of researchers foreign yet, report the development of innovative methodologies and the need to address broader studies on tourism. We find, thus changing the ontological and epistemological characteristics of tourism to a critique, the role of tourism is stuck in an interdisciplinary vision.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Accounting policies applicable to agricultural companies(“Ion Ionescu de la Brad” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Iaşi, 2013) Ignat, GabrielaIn the world of tough competition, in which only the performance resist change, the vital element in making the best decision is to ensure the balance between thought and action. If the methods used for obtain ,for analysis and for synthesis the information are especially good when the financial results are key elements for an entrepreneurial to focus their attention and orient their efforts. After 2013, under the new Common Agricultural Policy, it will be possible to maximize yields and to ensure the diversity of demand, through shorting distribution channels between nodes of production and consumption. In the agricultural sector cooperative market is based both on supply and demand from the agro-food field and the relations of reciprocity or mutual benefit, seeking a more equitable and efficient value chain in economic and social-ecological terms. Participating cooperatives can strengthen their market position, may thus have greater access to basic resources and to more favorable conditions for producers and consumers, encouraging the emergence of synergies in the new environment of trade relations. Lieşti, Galaţi county)(“Ion Ionescu de la Brad” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Iaşi, 2013) Gîndu, Elena; Chiran, Aurel; Drobotă, Benedicta; Viorică, Viorela-CameliaBoth nationally and in Galaţi County, agriculture is one of the basic branches of the economy, with a considerable contribution to GDP. In Romania, for 2007-2013 period, the rural development sector (including agriculture) is supported by the implementation of the National Rural Development Programme (NRDP). According with this program, the Romanian agriculture has many opportunities, such as: availability of large, increasing markets, both domestically and in Europe; potential to fight against climate change by developing and using renewable energy, including the production of biofuels from agriculture and forestry biomass; vertical coordination between processors of agricultural products, supermarkets chains and farmers; potential to improve the management of natural resources through training and advice, focused on environmental protection; capitalization of financial support granted by the NRDP to implement local development strategies etc. In this respect, also in Galaţi County, is intended to be projected and implemented strategies for the development of agriculture in general and also in livestock sector, especially based on the National Strategic Plan 2007-2013, strategies with national applicability. A very important element in this work is related to encouraging the farmers to accept the market demand and to improve their marketing strategy. Improving trading systems so that farmers be granted with a higher share of market prices may involve upgrading transport infrastructure and systems. Other measures involve: providing loans to traders and processors, forming farmers associations for joint capitalization of products on the market etc. Small farms are major players in most developing countries, including Romania. Therefore, for their development, macroeconomics must be stable and public goods in rural areas must be funded by the state (rural roads, education, health, agricultural research and extension, information dissemination). Also, institutional innovation plays a vital role in providing materials and services in which the state should be involved in its coordination to overcome issues like: supplies of raw materials and finished goods, financial, technical and marketing aspects etc. Research results in SC FERMUSIN S.R.L. Ilvas S.A. Vaslui)(“Ion Ionescu de la Brad” University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, Iaşi, 2013) Gîndu, Elena; Florea, Roxana-Ramona; Drobotă, Benedicta; Popescu, GabrielaIn human nutrition, milk and dairy products play an important role together with products like meat, eggs, vegetables, fruits and bread, which make up the "daily food basket". The production and, hence, the consumption of milk and dairy products registered a constant increase at world level, but especially in the USA and in the European Union Member States. The global milk production is estimated presently at over 560 million tones, of which Europe realizes about 25%. The capitalization of milk produced in Romania is done differently. According to current estimates, the biggest share of the milk production is capitalized in people`s household (through self-consumption) or it is delivered on the free market. The consumption of milk and dairy products is different, depending on habits, but also on the realized production, which is different by areas. The study of the consumer`s behavior in the milk and dairy products purchasing process has become a concern for marketing specialists because they can find out which are the criteria for choosing a product, respectively which are the stimuli and factors that influence their option. The consumer`s purchasing behavior, as a recent marketing research domain, refers to the behavior of final consumers, which purchase goods and services for personal consumption through which they satisfy current needs or indicate their role in society. In general, the behavior is an ensemble of external reactions through which the individual responds to stimuli. From a sociological point of view, the behavior is the subject`s activity in a given social situation. Marketing deals with the notion of consumer behavior both in a narrowly and broadly sense, but most specialists are placed between the two extremes. On the basis of the purchasing behavior of consumers, producers and retailers, several items that should be taken into account have resulted: the consumer`s reaction to the company`s marketing strategy, which impacts its success on the market; o the company marketing mix, which must satisfy the consumers; the possibility of predicting the way in which consumers will respond to the company`s strategies; the high cost of this research, the difficulty of realizing it and the risk of obtaining incorrect information. After the research of Ph. Kotler on the consumers` behavior, the factors that influence this process are grouped in four categories: 1 - cultural factors – represented by culture, subculture and social status; 2 - social factors – which include reference groups, family, roles and statuses; 3 -personal factors – which refer to age and the stage of the life cycle, occupation, lifestyle, economic circumstances, personality and self-opinion. 4 - psychological factors – represented by motivation, perception, learning, beliefs and attitudes. To respond to these aspects, the authors have realized a case study at S.C. ILVAS S.A. Vaslui, which has as a main activity the processing and marketing of milk and dairy products.
