The Siberian dwarf hamster is small in size, having a maximum length of 9 cm and a weight of 19-45 g. It has a fine, striped fur, which from winter to summer has different shades. Its diet is omnivorous, being mainly composed of dried seeds and fruits. The Siberian dwarf hamster prefers dark places where they can hide and also love to dig the galleries into the ground. This paper presents the influence of environmental factors on the growth conditions of the Siberian dwarf hamster. Prevention of damage to organs such as the kidneys, brain, heart, and eyes is one of the primary concerns in the management of veterinary patients with hypertension. Hypertension can be classified as primary (essential) or secondary. Essential hypertension refers to hypertension for which the cause remains unknown after extensive diagnostic testing, whereas secondary hypertension is associated with underlying disease or administration of hypertensive agents. In contrast to humans, essential or idiopathic hypertension is rare in veterinary patients. In cats and dogs, systemic hypertension is most often associated with another disease or condition such as: Renal disease, hyperadrenocorticism, Hyperthyroidism, Pheochromocytoma, Primary hyperaldosteronism, Diabetes mellitus, Renal disease, especially chronic kidney disease (CKD), is the most common cause of hypertension in dogs; approximately 31% to 93% of dogs may be hypertensive. The indices to monitor neonatal calf health are focused primarily on colostrum management and survival rates in the first 24 hours of life. The two main disease implicated with morbidity and mortality in young stock are diarrhea and pneumonia. Mortality rates and disease incidence in young stock are extremely variable between farms, and this is an area in which the herd health advisor can have an influence on cow welfare and herd productivity. If the rate of perinatal calf mortality is above target, calving management should be reviewed and discussed with farm staff. Vaccination of cows in the last trimester of pregnancy can be useful in providing immunoglobulins in colostrum against certain diseases, but cannot replace excellent hygiene and husbandry in the neonatal period. The cost of disease are difficult to quantify but are linked to a reduced growth rate and increased mortality rate. Initial value of the calf is around 200-250 EUR, but total cost from birth to 12 weeks age is about 350-400 EUR. The main lesions are consisting in hemorrhagic diathesis, especially in lungs, liver and spleen. There are no evolution particularities regarding the age, breed, gender or species (domesticated or wild). The aim of this paper was consisting in describing the symptomatology and the pathology of hemorrhagic disease outbreak in rabbits. To the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Iasi were submitted for a physical examination 5 rabbits, 4 female and one male, crossbreed between Lionhead and Californian breed, 4 to 9 months old, kept in a private household, and. During the physical examination, the main symptomatology seen was consisting in sign of seizures, agitations, respiratory illness and nasal bloody and foamy discharge. Due to their bad conditions, the rabbits died shortly after the physical exam. The gross pathology was characterized by hemorrhagic diathesis, catarrhal-hemorrhagic rhinitis, laryngitis and tracheitis with the presence in lumen of a frothy and hemorrhagic liquid. In cage birds the main causes of gout and nephritis are consisting in excessive nutrition with diets containing increased amount of protein and deficiency in vitamins, especially of A vitamin. The most common cases are seen in older budgerigar and nymphs, as well in those water deprived. The aim of this paper consists in showing suggestive clinical symptoms of this pathology that were identified in cage birds submitted to Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Iaşi. Following the physical examination, the main clinical signs were consisting in white-greyish uric acid deposits on leg’s skin, which caused deformation of affected joints. The necropsy and histopathology were performed in order to reveal organic lesions and skin and kidney microscopic lesions, respectively. By histopathology was confirmed the occurrence of intracellular acid uric deposits. In kidneys, lesions of total or partial necrosis of urinary tubes were observed. The skin showed areas of hyperkeratosis with a multitude of keratin fibers. Gout treatment is long-lasting, difficult to apply and with low chances of success, mostly depending on lesions severity and on the moment when bird was presented to physician. Thus, the pathology of this species in 90% of cases are caused by neglecting microclimate and nutrition conditions. The requirements of turtles are also according to their type (terrestrial tortoises or aquatic turtles). They need an environment as close as possible to their natural environment, a habitat with temperature, humidity, UV light and food which offer a maximum comfort. This paper aims to underline the importance of the feeding and microclimate conditions on turtle’s welfare and health. The clinical study was performed on turtles (different species: Testudo hermanni hermanni, Emys orbicularis and Trachemys scripta) that were referred to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Iasi between 2015- 2017. The main disorders noticed were consisting in vitamin and mineral imbalances, oral and ocular lesions, impaired development of the shell. After a careful physical examination which was correlated with turtle`s history given by the owner who described how the turtles are feed and where they are kept, an appropriate therapy has been recommended and adapted according to the symptoms severity (adequate diet, supplements with vitamins and minerals, improvement of microclimate conditions). When owners are respecting the doctor`s indication, the animal`s conditions is visibly improving after 2-3 months. Also, meat fish is a lean meat with low calorie but delicious assortment of meat, and is recommended in the consumer's diet . The fish content vitamins (A, D, E, B12), minerals (phosphorus, iodine, potassium) and healthy fats that can not be synthesized in the human body and must be fed through food. How healthy the fish meat is, the more dangerous it can be in terms of its safety for the consumer, and more precisely the presence of parasitic hazards. The main objectives of this paper are to describe the parasitic hazards of fish meat to indicate the proper preparation of fish meat and to increase consumer awareness of the risks associated with the consumption of this type of meat, threats of parasitic nature. Following limited research in buffalo, the viable embryo production has increased significantly from less than 1 per flushing to 2.5-3.0 in general and over 4 in isolated cases and conception rate following embryo transfer improved from about 10% to about 30-40%. However, the response to superovulatory treatment and recovery of viable embryos following superovulation is still low compared to cattle due to various factors (Tyagi S. 2007). Through this study we want to make contributions regarding the obtaining of invivo embryos and their rate of recovery by the method of washing the uterus at the Romanian Indigenous Buffalo, located outside the breeding season. The breeding season for Romanian Buffaloes in the major buffalo rearing countries appear to extend from September to March. A polyovulation protocol, described by Hafez (2007), with PMSG at the single dose of 2500 IU administered on day 13, one day before the removal of progesterone vaginal devices (PRID), was used. On the 12th day, a dose of PG was also given. Ovarian response showed a rapid evolution of ovaries, follicle count and size, and ovulation. The ovary volume increased by 3 cm on the day of the oestrus and by another 0.5 cm on the flusing day (from 2 / 1.5 cm to 5.5 / 4 cm the right ovary, and from 1.5 / 1 cm to 4/3 cm left ovary). Five follicles were grown on the right ovary and 3 on the left ovary with a diameter of 0.7-0.9 cm. Of which ovulated only 6. Four corpus luteum were diagnosed on the right ovary and 2 on the left. After washing the uterus 6 days after insemination, a number of 4 embryos were recovered and identified in the laboratory. Three embryos came from the right horn and only one left.Depending on the embryonic stage of development and segmentation, two embryos were in the blastocyst stage and two were in the stage of compact morgue with non-homogeneous chromatin. Complementary medicine or medicine called unconventional, alternative medicine can help treat various diseases where conventional medicine does not offer solutions. Joint diseases, particularly chronic ones, requires a long therapy with anti- inflammatory drugs, often resulting in the occurrence of secondary reactions, which require cessation of therapy, leaving the patient with pain and physical discomfort. For the most efficient and rapid recovery of locomotor or joint functions, it is recommended to apply alternative methods. The objective of the present study was the identification and characterization of the Mycobacterium avium complex species isolated from backyard poultry and ruminant samples. The molecular identification and genotyping was performed in ANSES, Laboratory for Animal Health, Maisons-Alfort, France, by real time PCR, with a wide range of targets: hsp65, IS6110, IS1081, IS1245, IS901 and MIRU-VNTR. M. avium avium and M. avium paratuberculosis were the two species identified. Five different profiles were obtained through genotyping, four of which had corresponding INMV (INRA Nouzilly MIRU-VNTR) profiles: INMV 2, INMV 67, INMV 99 and INMV 100. This study was conducted within a dairy cattle farm and aimed to highlight the importance of ultrasound examination for diagnosis of uterine and ovarian disorders in dairy cattle. During the study regarding ultrasound diagnosis of anestrus syndrome in dairy cattle, several types of genital pathologies were recorded. Thus, of all recorded uterine and ovarian disorders, 35 cases of endometritis (19.1%), 12 cases of acute metritis (6.5%), 26 cows with follicular cysts (14.2%), 21 cows with luteal cysts (11.5%), 42 cases of persistent corpus luteum (23%), 25 cows with ovarian inactivity (13.7%) and 22 cows with silent estrus (12%), were diagnosed. Its administration in animal feed increases weight gain, but side effects such as decreased fertility and degenerative changes in liver and kidney have been observed. To study the effects of monosodium glutamate toxicity on the male reproductive system, one hundred thirty-four Japanese quails (Coturnix japonica) were divided into 4 groups. Monosodium glutamate was admninistrated for 30 days in different concentrations in 3 groups: 10g/kg feed for group I, 30g/kg feed for group II, 50 g/kg feed for group III. For the individuals in group II and III, was observed the reduction in the number of germline and sperm cells compared to the control group, the presence of degenerative Sertoli cells and spermatic cells with pyknotic nuclei, the presence of vacuoles among seminiferous tubule cells. The toxigenic strains of this bacterial species are responsible for some enteral diseases in humans and domestic animals. In dogs, hemorrhagic enteritis produced by Clostridium perfringens are sporadic but have a severe progression-restricted progression. In the year 2018, 9 faeces samples were taken from dewormed dogs, vaccinated but with enteritis and associated toxic conditions (vomiting, lethargy, diminished appetite) that started suddenly without any other clinical history. Based on the anamnesis, it excluded the risk of chemical poisoning. Faeces samples were subjected to the microbiological exam. The bacterioscopic examination in Gram stained smears was predominantly Gram positive bacilli with morphology and characteristic disposition for Clostridium sp and no specific morphological phenotypes for spirochetes or protozoa were identified. The samples were incubated at 37° C, under anaerobic conditions, on liquid culture media (bullion VL) and solids (Clostridium agar, SPS agar) and under aerobic conditions on culture media for aerobic bacteria (nutrient broth, blood agar) (E. coli, Salmonella sp., Shigella sp., Campylobacter sp., Yersinia sp., Serpulina sp., Vibrio sp., etc.) which can trigger enteritis in dogs. Following the bacteriological examination, strains of Clostridium sp. Biochemical tests have included the species as Clostridium perfrigens. The economic importance of the disease lies in the important economic losses following the decrease in the productive capacity of the animals, mortality and fetal malformations, immunization costs of the receptive animals, trade restrictions, reduction of the economic recovery price of the receptive animals and products thereof. Our study aimed at identifying by virological examinations the presence and circulation of BLA virus in the SE region of Romania. For viral isolation and identification were used blood samples collected from domestic ruminants in the counties: Galati, Braila, Tulcea and Vrancea. According to the working chart of the BT Diagnostic Manual (LNR Arboviroze Bucharest), the samples collected from suspect animals were processed and tested by RT-PCR. In the period 2015-2016, 517 blood samples with anticoagulant from 282 cattle and 235 sheep suspected of Bluetongue were tested for the identification of the viral genome by RT-PCR technique. There were no suspicions of Bluetongue disease in goats in the counties included in the study. In bovines in the SE of Romania, the viral genome was identified in 171 (60.64%) blood samples with anticoagulant. In sheep in the SE of Romania, the viral genome was identified in 209 (88.93%) blood samples with anticoagulant. Most positive samples confirmed by the detection of the BT viral genome came from Vrancea, both in cattle (161 positive samples) and in sheep (209 positive samples). The completion of the epidemiological studies of the hunting funds in Iasi County contribute to the identification and confirmation of the presence of trichinella outbreaks. EFSA adopted on 3 October 2011 a scientific opinion on the public health risks to be taken into account when carrying out meat inspections. In this opinion EFSA notes that Trichinella represents a medium risk to public health related to meat consumption. EFSA identifies the sporadic presence of Trichinella in the United States mainly for swine fever or for those born in freedom. Annual surveillance of the same hunting funds for wild boar is an important tool for assessing the evolution of prevalence. Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 does not apply to wild boar which is supplied directly to the final consumer, so it is up to the Member States to adopt national measures to limit the risk of man being infected with Trichinella following wild boar consumption. The hunting funds from which the samples were collected are in Iasi County and represent the Turia Perieni area, Bahlui area and Mădârjac area. The samples were collected from the elected places. Between 2014 and 2018, we processed 200 samples, and the method used to detect the parasite was the compression method. The investigations regarding the quality of raw sheep's milk for cheese processing took place between 2017 and 2018 on samples taken from Botoşani and Iaşi counties, from traditional farms with an average of 250 sheep, where the Turcana breeds predominated and Tigaie. The investigations were conducted to determine the degree of freshness, integrity, and we monitored some physico-chemical and microbiological parameters of the raw material. The sampling was done directly from the collection vessels after milking and filtration mainly during the hot season and their processing was carried out in the Food Control Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Iasi, where 53 samples of milk were processed sheep. Following sample analysis, 8 samples were inadequate for organoleptic examination and integrity. Deviations from the organoleptic characters of appearance, color, odor and guat parameters were 15.09%. The metallic alloys are considered dominant biomaterials The main metalic representatives are commercially pure titanium, titanium alloys (Ti-6AI-4V, Ti-6Al7Nb, Ti-5Al-2.5Fe), stainless steel (316 and 316 L), tantalum, Co-Cr- Mo alloys and Mg alloys. Bioceramics became a group of materials of great importance for maxillo-facial surgery and orthopedics. Polymeric materials have a growing medical importance. Due to their biocompatibility, similar resistance of cortical bone, good corrosion resistance in the physiological environment.
