The combined influence of the studied factors determined the highest yield increase (1420 kg·ha-1) in the case of the variant on which two cuttings and Asfac BCO-4 were applied, at a dose of 1.5 l·ha-1.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Insecticidal effect of herbal and aromatic extracts: myth or reality?("Ion Ionescu de la Brad" Iași University of Life Sciences, 2020) Bădeanu, Marinela; Daraban, G.; Șuteu, DanielaThe concern of the people for obtaining rich harvests and with the least expensive means has been and is continuous. The man of the past centuries, being more connected to nature than the present man and having the popular knowledge about the natural phenomena and about the plant species from the spontaneous flora, often used different plants in the control of the pests from the agricultural crops. Modern man, forced to return to nature, has devoted himself to the study of plants with combat potential, the first fruits of his work being then materialized in a series of synthetic products called pyrethroids, after the plant that provided them with information and substance: Piretrum cinerareifolium.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Ways to capitalize on the terraces of urban living spaces("Ion Ionescu de la Brad" Iași University of Life Sciences, 2020) Negrea Pașcu, Roxana; Zlati, Cristina; Bernardis, Roberto-RenatoThe concept of terrace or green roof, arose from the desire to bring nature as close as possible. Thanks to the increasingly advanced technologies of recent years, we can achieve this goal even when we live in urban areas. The benefits of this work could be seen in the proposal of a design solution that aimed to reduce energy consumption and noise pollution, 60% rainwater retention and last but not least reduce the temperature of the roof by up to 7 degrees in the warm season and increase it by up to 5 degrees in the cold season. Thus, in this work, the suitability of some dendrological species for an arrangement located on a terrace located on the last level of a block of flats in the Tudor Vladimirescu neighborhood was analyzed. In carrying out this work, the choice of planting material was taken into account to ensure the decoration in a wide range.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Atmospheric dry tolerance of dendrological plants and ways of implementation in urban and periurban green spaces("Ion Ionescu de la Brad" Iași University of Life Sciences, 2020) Sandu, Tatiana; Trofin, Alina-Elena; Bernardis, Roberto-RenatoThe impact of climate change increasingly depends on the measures and how affected areas, especially urban ones, manage to adapt by improving urban plans, increasing areas with green spaces, and adapting infrastructure to encourage the use of means of non-polluting transportation. But in the case of dendrological plants, atmospheric drought and pedological drought affect the normal development of vital processes due to cell dehydration, which in the short term leads to wilting of plants, and in the long term, can even lead to their death. All the properties of plant tissues to survive stressors are in fact plant resistance. In this sense, in landscaping in addition to the already known functions (sanitary, utilitarian, decorative), it is imperative to use resources rationally by proposing the use of dendrological and floricultural species as adapted to these stressful environmental conditions. This paper addresses the issues of high drought and its effects on plants, some aspects of the assortment of dendrological plants with drought tolerance suitable for the Iasi area and a proposal to implement these studies in the periurban landscape of Iasi by arranging a square in the peri-urban area of Iasi.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Evolution of grapes’ titratable acidity and sugar content in relation to canopy microclimate in the Cotnari wine growing region conditions("Ion Ionescu de la Brad" Iași University of Life Sciences, 2020) Minciună, I.P.; Patriche, Cristian-Valeriu; Colibaba, Lucia-Cintia; Cimpoi, Vlăduț-Ion; Irimia, Liviu-MihaiHigh temperatures and high values of solar radiation during grape ripening lead to excessive sugar accumulations and low titratable acidity, with negative consequences on the sensory profile of the grapes and wines. The control of these unfavourable developments for the chemical composition of the grapes becomes a base condition for obtaining quality wines in the context of climate change. The research was carried out in 2020, on Tămâioasă românească wine grape variety in the Cotnari wine growing region, during the grape ripening season. The study revealed: positive correlations between the helio-thermal factors and grapes sugar content; negative correlations between the same climatic factors and grapes titratable acidity; and the influence of some cultural practices on grapes chemical composition. The grapes on the west side of the row have accumulated less sugars during ripening: 137.64 g / L on the west side and 145.72 g / L on the east side; grapes acidity on the west side was also more pronounced, with 13.61 g / L tartaric acid compared to 12.69 g / L tartaric acid on the east side. The 6% bentonite film treatment reduced the impact of temperatures and solar radiation on titratable acidity of the grapes, maintaining it by 0.83 g / L tartaric acid higher than the control.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , The effects of extremely low frequency magnetic fields on tomato seeds germination("Ion Ionescu de la Brad" Iași University of Life Sciences, 2020) Cazacu, Ana; Boca, Ș.C.; Bodale, IlieIn this paper were investigated the effects of magnetic fields on the germination of tomato seeds, Korall cultivar. The experiments were performed under laboratory-controlled conditions to eliminate the influence of variations in environmental factors. The tomato seeds, during the whole germination period, were exposed to a magnetic field generated by electrical conductors crossed by different electric currents. Three types of extremely low frequency magnetic fields were used for treatments (0 Hz - 13 μT; 0 Hz - 20 μT and 50 Hz - 20μT). The results obtained are useful for the development of a smart system for stimulating the germination of tomato seeds.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Preliminary studies regarding the design a spiral of herbs("Ion Ionescu de la Brad" Iași University of Life Sciences, 2020) Chiriță, Raluca; Teliban, Gabriel-Ciprian; Cojocaru, Alexandru; Stoleru, VasileIn the modern agriculture is a new trend, that of replacing cultivated areas with unproductive ornamental plants with productive vegetable species, using natural cultivation systems, with the purpose of educating young people, obtaining satisfaction by producing their own food, reducing (avoiding) the polluting factor and using leisure in a pleasant way. Against the background of reduced incomes or changes in the employment situation, the pandemic caused by COVID-19 caused changes in the perception of Romanians, in terms of food, housing, job, etc., a rethinking of lifestyle and a return to a minimalist and healthy life style. The new systems for growing vegetable, aromatic and spicy plants are inspired by nature. Thus, a non-conventional model for growing vegetable plants is the concept of spiral. A perfect concept to highlight a series of modern principles and ethics, based on a harmonious and efficient combination of new ideas and solutions, which can cope with economic, social and even climate change.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Comparative study of some cultivars of broad bean (Vicia faba L.)("Ion Ionescu de la Brad" Iași University of Life Sciences, 2020) Teliban, Gabriel-Ciprian; Stoleru, Vasile; Stan, Teodor; Cojocaru, Alexandru; Popa, Lorena-Diana; Precupeanu, Cristina; Zaica, Alexandru; Horaicu, Alexandru; Munteanu, NeculaiThe broad bean is a vegetable plant known and appreciated in the peasant households of our country, where different local populations and a limited variety of homologated cultivars are cultivated. Statistics in our country do not mention the species as being of major importance to the population, although its nutritional and agrotechnical value are well known. The aim of this paper is to conduct a study on the main biometric and agroproductivity characteristics of some broad bean cultivars. The results obtained highlight the high variability of the cultivars studied in terms of plant weight and height dynamics, the number of pods per plant, the number of seeds per pod, the number of seeds per plant, the average weight of a broad bean seed and the average weight of seeds/plant.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , The study on the influence of mother-plant bulbs’ origin from links of different selection as well as the size of the mother-plant bulbs on the vegetative and generative development of buds into seed-tree’ field upon “Diana” trienal onion variety("Ion Ionescu de la Brad" Iași University of Life Sciences, 2020) Farcaș, Laura-Florina; Heitz, Minerva; Sand, B.; Popa, D.The work includes partial results of some research carried out over a period of time which includes several biological cycles ,,from seed to seed" on the determinism of some quantitative features of mother-plant bulbs, to ,,Diana" onion of chives variety, on the vegetative and generative development of plants from seed-tree phase. Data from the scientific literature mention that the main method of establishing eggplant crops is through seedlings. Eggplants are a thermophilic species widely cultivated in different habitats, a low cultivation temperature (< 20 °C), as one of the major abiotic stresses, could significantly disturb the normal physiological and metabolic processes of eggplants. Eggplant crops play a main role in the world, with a high ecological plasticity, adaptable to different crop systems. Also, eggplant plants are affected by a large number of pathogens and pests, which is why solutions are sought using different methods of establishing the crops, under ecological farming. Thus, during the research, two eggplant cultivars (Mirval F1 and Black Pearl F1) were treated with organic and conventional fertilizers compared with control.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , The use of glass in landscaping a green space in front of A. Thus, this plant composition is increasingly addressed in both public parks and private gardens. Hedges are defined by fine, graceful and sinuous lines or statuary and geometrized, made of plant compound of low or imposing heights, and associated with elements such as water, buildings, alleys within the arrangements or even together with other plants. In order to illustrate this concept, in this paper we studied the compatibility of the use of special dendrological genera from an ornamental point of view, whose biological characteristics allow them to be used in compositions such as hedges. For each of the five genres studied, two types of systematization were used, thus being able to determine their sustainability over time.listelement.badge.dso-type Item , listelement.badge.access-status Open Access , Observations regarding multiplication on vegetative methods of Taxus baccata L. species in Iaşi County conditions("Ion Ionescu de la Brad" Iași University of Life Sciences, 2020) Bernardis, Roberto-Renato; Sandu, Tatiana; Dascălu, Marius; Zlati, Cristina; Negrea Pașcu, Roxana; Poșta, Daniela-SabinaAmong the multitude of conifers found in green spaces is found the Taxus genus.
